The Gadsden Arts Center & Museum improves quality of life through art by offering art exhibitions, art classes and workshops for children and adults, after-school programs, summer camps, community events, and more.
The Gadsden Arts Center & Museum….what began as a small annual art exhibition in 1989 to support local artists and improve the quality of life in Gadsden County, has grown into an American Alliance of Museum Accredited Museum with 4 exhibition galleries, 2 art studios, and innovative educational and exhibition programming year-round.
Gadsden Arts is a “Center” – a community gathering place – and a “Museum” that collects, preserves, and shares important works of art, hosts culturally and historically meaningful exhibitions, and promotes tourism.
For the past 20 years, Gadsden Arts has strived to offer art education opportunities for local children. Gadsden Arts promotes local artists’ work and shares with people in the community art by nationally known artists, and art with historical or cultural value. Gadsden Arts also stimulates economic growth and tourism for Gadsden County.
Housed in the historic Bell & Bates building on the Courthouse Square, Gadsden Arts rotates exhibitions and offers a variety of programs throughout the year. In the fall of 2017 Gadsden Arts will open a walk-in art studio, the Art Zone, so that families of Gadsden County can create art every time they visit.
Admission and most programs are free of charge.
